hm...

Why is it that we spend so much time sitting in front of the computer when really the internet is so unrewarding?

Don't get me wrong, I love spending time on the net, I spend hours here every day. That's just it though, I could spend 10 minutes doing my routine...maybe up to an hour depending on how many emails I've gotten and how many people have updated their blogs/myspace/facebook/etc. But checking my daily routine of Gmail-Myspace-Xanga-Facebook-TCU mail-Blogger is an obsession. I check each of them at least 5 times a day. Not sure why....other than I feel the need to be connected to my friends. Well, one of my friends lives next door...about 5 more live in my complex...so really...why the need to spend so much time on the internet. I don't know...and I'm not going to change how I do things, just find it interesting because I realized today how unsatisfying it is for me to do this.

Just a thought.

i basically agree with you...on one hand i see the internet for how powerful it is a connector, but on the other hand i see how underutilized in terms of what we spend most of our hours on here doing. but i guess that varies for everyone.

You know, that is a great point. The internet is underutilized in many ways, and I couldn't survive school without the use of the internet!
